US GOV SUPPORT
AS A 5-STAR GSA RATED CONTRACTOR, CARRIER CONNECT IS PROUDLY DD-2345 AND GSA SCHEDULE 48 CERTIFIED, ENABLING US TO HANDLE AND PROTECT TECHNICAL DATA UNDER THE INTERNATIONAL TRAFFIC IN ARMS REGULATIONS (I.T.A.R.), 22 CFR §§ 120–130, WITH THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF COMPLIANCE. WE ARE FULLY COMMITTED TO ADHERING TO ALL APPLICABLE U.S. LAWS AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE EXPORT, RE-EXPORT, AND TEMPORARY IMPORT OF DEFENSE ARTICLES, ENSURING THE SECURITY OF SENSITIVE INFORMATION AND UPHOLDING THE NATIONAL SECURITY AND FOREIGN POLICY INTERESTS OF THE U.S.
-
The I.T.A.R. controls the manufacture, export, and temporary import of defense articles and defense services on the U.S. Munitions List (U.S.M.L.). This also includes "technical data," which is information required for the design, development, production, manufacture, assembly, operation, repair, testing, maintenance, or modification of defense articles.
-
As a 3PL, Carrier Connect acts as a freight forwarder and logistics partner. Our services include the physical transport and handling of goods. While we do not manufacture or classify defense articles, we are an essential part of the supply chain and are responsible for our compliance obligations.
Our policy is to:Handle goods properly: We ensure that ITAR-controlled goods are handled, stored, and transported in a secure manner to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure.
Support customer compliance: We rely on our customers, who are the principal parties in interest, to provide accurate and complete information regarding the nature of the cargo. This includes identifying any goods that are ITAR-controlled and providing us with the necessary licenses or approvals from the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC).
Screen for prohibited parties and destinations: We conduct due diligence to screen all parties and destinations involved in a shipment against restricted party lists. We will not proceed with any shipment that involves a prohibited destination or denied party.
Protect technical data: We understand that "technical data" is also regulated by ITAR. We have internal protocols to protect any sensitive information related to defense articles that our customers share with us. This includes access controls, encryption, and secure storage.
Renew DDTC registration: If our activities require it, we will maintain our registration with the DDTC and ensure it is renewed annually.
-
For the purposes of ITAR compliance, our customers and partners are required to:
Clearly identify ITAR goods: Inform Carrier Connect immediately if a shipment contains defense articles, technical data, or defense services controlled under ITAR.
Provide accurate documentation: Supply us with all necessary export licenses, authorizations, or documentation of applicable exemptions.
Ensure compliance: Assume ultimate responsibility for the proper classification of their goods under the USML or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), obtaining all required licenses, and ensuring compliance with all export regulations.
-
Carrier Connect maintains a strict policy of honesty and integrity. If you have any concerns regarding potential ITAR violations, please contact our compliance department immediately. We are committed to a transparent and cooperative relationship with all U.S. government agencies, including the DDTC.
-
This policy statement is for informational purposes only and is not legal advice. The ITAR is complex and subject to change. Customers and partners are advised to seek their own legal counsel and to rely on their own expertise to ensure their compliance with all applicable export regulations.
